We got the call at 4:10 pm that they had started the incision. The surgeon and the lungs were within 30 minutes of the hospital at that time. The are supposed to call us to let us know when they get here. The surgery could last anywhere from 4 - 6 hours, but it could be longer. We are trusting that things will go smoothly. Will post more when we have more.
Pardon my lack of eloquence. I feel like I need to go for a run, and those of you who know me know how unlikely that is. It is not from worry or anxiety. It's from adrenaline. Ha! Actually it is pure impatience. I hate waiting in grocery lines, too. I am nice about it, but there's nothing to do but just stand there. That's how I feel now. "OK, it's been a year. We've had the call. Let's get on with the healing phase."
We feel your prayers and we love hearing from all of you on FaceBook or here on the blog. I can't wait to share them all with Tammy when she is coherent. I was going to say, "when she gets back to normal" but we want better than our recent "normal," right?
