Raring to Go!

November is upon us already. I thought I would start this season of Thanksgiving off with sharing some of the things we are thankful for in the Barnes' house.

Tammy is ready and raring to get back to life as normal.  Can you believe it? Her last stay in the hospital was crazy for a few reasons.  First of all, the "nodules" were definitely a result of her reflux causing her to aspirate food into her lungs. It was growing bacteria that was causing a pneumonia.  Here is the crazy thing... the pneumonia, which is gone by the way, did not trigger a rejection. So we are 5 months out without a single "significant" rejection of these new lungs.  There has been some inflammation, but that has more to do with getting the medicine levels right, than with a systematic rejection.  Yay!

Because the pneumonia was limiting her breathing capacity, she was getting out of shape again, so they sent her home with oxygen.  She only has to use it when she is doing more strenuous activities like the stairs or grocery shopping.  However, she is moving so muchqu
